Art

Here’s a few things I’ve made with https://www.blender.org/ and other art packages!

Without proper raytracing (2001), reflections are hard!

One of the things I really like about “regular” / real painting is how you can often suggest a mood, or a texture, or feeling without having to put in too much detail. You can be abstract and “sketchy”. This was my first attempt at trying to achieve a kind of non-rendered / non-computery kind of feeling. Going for soft curves rather than jaggies or boxes.

winter

shack2
inspired by the monkey island games vibe

spring-flowers-light

cityscape
Made in blender. Again, very basic / blocky. I’d just seen bladerunner for the first time, I think, and was interested to see how easy / hard it was to make more atmospheric cities in blender. Looks pretty naff now, though…

Worms

cool-worm
worm-windmill
Made in blender. This was before “Worms3D” was even in Beta. They’d done the cool animations at the beginning of Worms2, and I really liked them.

Barmy the dinosaur

And then my first “real” blender creation, “Barmy”, who I’ve put into a bunch of christmas cards and other unlikely situations:

barmy

cake
for a friend’s birthday card.

Made in blender, a friend for “Barmy”.
