Well, I looked in my dictionary, and heres what it says:
"Seven Seas" The oceans of the world considered as the North
and South Pacific, the North and South Atlantic, and the Arctic,
Antarctic, and Indian Oceans.
However, I did a search on google for "seven seas" origin word
and came up with this:

idea which the true one is, but its a fun topic to persue!
